Job Description

Direct Support Professional Currently hiring for Saturday's 9:00am-1:00pm, with the opportunity to serve as a floater for other shifts as needed
Duties:
  • Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual under your care
  • Assist with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, meal preparation, laundry, and housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Help the individual meet their goals and objectives
  • Oversee physical care, the development of acceptable habits and attitudes, and management of behavior
  • Escort the individual to and from training and community activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all care provided
  • Conduct and document monthly fire drills
  • Teach the individual basic first-aid, fire safety, and emergency skills
  • Observe the individual for behavioral changes, physical injuries, and cleanliness
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Preferably a minimum of one year of work experience in either an In-Home Service or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stoop, bend, stand, and lift heavy objects or assist individuals with mobility challenges
  • Must have a valid driver's license and copy of a current driving record from the DMV
  • Criminal background investigation and a registry check by the Department of Social Services is required
  • Training will be provided upon employment for required Therapeutic Options, First-Aid, and CPR certifications If you are compassionate, dedicated, and have a passion for helping others, we would love to hear from you.
