Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team, providing essential assistance and care to individuals with diverse needs. In this role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medication as prescribed, and maintaining accurate care plans Support residents during meals by preparing nutritious food and assisting with eating as needed Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and proper manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols Document patient observations, care activities, and communication in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being Assist with specialized care such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or autism support Support residents' participation in community activities and transportation needs using personal transportation assistance Follow safety procedures including first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response protocols Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and medication administration procedures Experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities Familiarity with care plans tailored for dementia or memory care residents Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance Background in geriatrics or senior care is highly desirable Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in hospice or home & community care is advantageous If you are passionate about caregiving and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those you serve, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
