Our best-in-class breath testing technology profiles the microbiome by measuring fermented gases expressed in a patient's breath. The trio-smart breath test is the only test that measures all primary gases produced in the gut: hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide. Profiling these gases aids in the identification of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), intestinal methanogenic overgrowth (IMO), and excess hydrogen sulfide, which provides actionable diagnosis for clinicians to create personalized treatment regiments for patients. Copper State Laboratory Services works in partnership with Gemelli Biotech Corporation to provide clinical testing services so that patients with GI disorders can take their first step towards feeling better. Position Summary The Laboratory Aide supports the daily operations of a high-complexity clinical laboratory by performing sample preparation, organizing laboratory materials, and completing other hands-on operational tasks. This is an entry-level position well suited to someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable performing repetitive physical work, and interested in gaining experience in a clinical laboratory environment. The Laboratory Aide works under the direction of qualified laboratory personnel. This position does not independently perform, interpret, validate, or report patient testing. Responsibilities Receive, sort, organize, and route specimens according to established procedures. Verify specimen identifiers and accompanying documentation for completeness. Assist with specimen preparation under the supervision of qualified laboratory personnel. Load, unload, and organize specimens or consumables associated with laboratory instruments, as permitted by training and laboratory policy. Monitor and replenish routine laboratory supplies and notify the appropriate team member when inventory is low. Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of laboratory work areas and non-technical equipment. Dispose of specimens according to laboratory procedures and applicable safety requirements. Identify specimen discrepancies or workflow problems and promptly escalate them to qualified laboratory personnel. Follow all written standard operating procedures, safety requirements, quality policies, and confidentiality rules. Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and other applicable regulatory requirements. Participate in required training and demonstrate competency for assigned duties. Assist with other physical, administrative, or operational laboratory tasks as assigned.

Experience Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions consistently. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining concentration. Basic computer skills and comfort entering or reviewing information in laboratory software. Preferred:

Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, medical office, manufacturing, fulfillment, production, or other regulated environment. Experience handling specimens or working with laboratory supplies and equipment. Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, CAP, or quality-controlled processes. Coursework in biology, chemistry, healthcare, or a related subject. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Ability to perform frequent repetitive hand and wrist movements. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and move between laboratory workstations. Ability to lift and carry up to [25-40] pounds.
