Entry Lvl QC - Lab Technician

Paramount, CA Temporary $19.00 - $23.00/hr Onsite Job Description The Lab Technician supports the Quality Control team in a plastic manufacturing environment by inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with hands-on assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read basic drawings or blueprints. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform visual inspections and basic testing of plastic components and finished products.

Verify product dimensions and specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and gauges.

Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to confirm product requirements.

Record inspection results, test data, and quality documentation accurately.

Identify defects, nonconforming materials, or quality concerns and communicate findings to Quality and Production teams.

Assist in first article, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured plastic products.

Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QC lab and inspection area.

Ensure testing and inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing policies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality inspection, or a related field.

Hands-on assembly experience required.

Basic understanding of drawings, blueprints, or manufacturing work instructions required.

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.

Basic computer skills for data entry and quality recordkeeping.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective communication skills and willingness to learn quality processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion, or assembly environments.

Familiarity with quality inspection techniques and measuring instruments.

Exposure to ISO or manufacturing quality systems.

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Ability to perform repetitive inspections and handle small plastic components.

Good visual acuity for defect identification and detailed inspection work.
