A Medical Laboratory Technician helps with the performance of laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories, which provide information for medical patient diagnosis and treatment. Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.

$39.32 per hourShift Differentials:
Weekday Nights- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 7:00 pm
- 7:00 am
- $3.00 per hour Weekend Days
- Saturday, Sunday
- 7:00 am
- 7:00 pm
- $3.50 per hour Weekend Nights
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- 7:00 pm
- 7:00 am
- $5.
Minimum Required Education/Experience :
Associate's degree clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution. One year of previous work experience in a laboratory setting is required. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills :
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to adapt style to fit various patient needs (age, physical needs, etc.).
- Advanced skill in phlebotomy processes on all age groups (infant to geriatric).
- Ability to engage with and work with other personnel and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to complete mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Experience in working in classified/confidential work settings; ensuring only approved information is shared or released when approved.
- Ability to use office equipment (personal computer, fax, copier, various software applications).

An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.Necessary Special Requirements :
Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to TB test.Licenses or Certificates :
Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification through theAmerican Society of Clinical Pathologists or Equivalent Benefits :
