About Gobi Labs Gobi Labs was founded by two devout chemists and a belief that sound scientific analysis is the surest route to advancement. They worked diligently to master the state's regulations and develop the leading potency testing facility in Colorado. After creating their strong foundation, they became the first laboratory to be certified for microbial testing and residual solvent analysis. Since Gobi Labs opened doors on May 1, 2014, we have been rapidly growing, developing new methodology, and setting and resetting standards. The Gobi team now collectively holds over 30 years of analytical testing experience. We later opened another lab dedicated for hemp testing. All the quality standards in marijuana lab has been duplicated in hemp lab, with it's location right next to the marijuana lab so that it gets all the same resources and expertise. Job Description The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for all duties administered by the Supervisory Analyst, Laboratory Manager and the Laboratory Director in conjunction with regulations established by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) and
ISO 17025
requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct Gobi Labs operations and performance as per the Laboratory Director and Manager. Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. Follow Quality Assurance protocols. Maintain a high level of performance to uphold the integrity of laboratory procedures and protocols. Conduct sample preparation of several types of tests required by CDPHE and MED according to the SOPs. Prepare media and reagents as required. Have great pipetting skills. Ensure the testing systems used for each of the tests performed in the laboratory provide quality laboratory services for all aspects of the test performance, which includes the pre-analytic, analytic and post analytic phases of testing. Keep track of samples and strictly follow chain of custody. Daily QC checks and maintenance of instruments - balances, refrigerators, freezers, instruments. Effectively interact with laboratory personnel and managers to ensure all quality requirements are addressed and maintained. Check supplies inventory on a regular basis. Stock laboratory supplies. Maintain general laboratory cleaning and safety. Receive and log samples as needed. Assist in planning for each phase of tasks and in defining objectives and activities. Perform other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager and the Laboratory Director. Requirements At least a bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences At least one year of analytical laboratory experience in a regulated lab is preferred Familiarization with any or several modern analytical instruments such as
HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS
is preferred Excellent communication skills Good computer skills Great pipetting skills MUST be a Colorado Resident MUST have or be able to obtain employee license issued by Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED Badge)
