Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Laboratory Specimen Courier and General Office Assistant. This for a full-time in person position. Monday-Friday 09:30-18:30. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our laboratory operations, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of biological specimens while providing essential administrative support. Your energetic approach will help maintain smooth laboratory workflows, uphold strict confidentiality, and deliver exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine logistical expertise with clinical laboratory support in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Responsibilities Safely collect, process, and transport biological specimens such as blood, urine, tissue samples, and other materials in accordance with laboratory procedures and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations. Ensure proper specimen labeling, documentation, and handling to maintain specimen integrity and compliance with safety standards. Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while managing patient information and specimen details. Assist with general office tasks including data entry, filing, inventory management of supplies, and maintaining organized records. Will be responsible for helping maintain cleanliness of offices and portions of laboratory (i.e. disposing of garbage, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and general appearance of laboratory and lab offices). Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and laboratory staff to coordinate specimen collection schedules and provide excellent customer service. Support laboratory management by adhering to safety protocols such as aseptic techniques during specimen handling. Will help to maintain company vehicle (i.e. take to local businesses for oil changes, air in tires/tire changes, maintain adequate gasoline levels with company provided gas card, general cleanliness and overall health of vehicle). Skills Experience with hospital or laboratory environments is desirable but not required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and healthcare professionals. Competence in the use of computer and other IT components. Specific LIS requirements will be trained upon hire if indicated. Must be 21+ years of age with valid driver's license and clean driving record! Must submit to a background check, drug testing, and clinical vaccine titer blood draw as well as TB testing. Prefer to hire someone local (Pontotoc County). Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and ability to sit for extended periods of driving. Company car will be provided and must be utilized for all work related duties. $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
