Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on the 7 PM to 7 AM shift in our medical floor. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care. As an integral part of our nursing staff, you will deliver skilled nursing services, support patient assessments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will help create a safe, comforting environment for our diverse patient population, including those with complex medical needs. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheter care, following strict protocols and safety standards. Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection and processing, and medical imaging procedures as needed. implement emergency protocols such as rapid response. Provide specialized care for patients with various disease processes. Swing bed patients. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high quality of care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control policies, long-term care regulations, and clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining accurate medical records and documentation. Qualifications Valid LPN license with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), IV insertion, phlebotomy, and sterile technique are highly desirable. Demonstrated experience working in medical-surgical units preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or CPSI managing electronic health records efficiently. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medication administration protocols. Prior experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities; dementia or Alzheimer's care experience is a plus. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with effective caregiver communication and case management abilities. Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
