Job Description
Provides care/services under the California State Law defining the Nurse Practice Act. Professional Duties Patient Assessment/Evaluation. Patient Planning/Implementation. Medication Administration. ECG•performs electrocardiograms as ordered by the provider and according to approved policy and procedure. Dressing/Sutures/Orthopedics Appliances. Patient and/or Provider Assistance. Non-Invasive Procedure. Invasive Procedures. Testing. Documentation & Information. Quality Control Activities. Responds to all codes. Responsible for lab draws, specimen processing using CBC machine and Piccolo, and relaying results to MD as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Serve as an ambassador for Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care at all times and positively shape the customer experience Introduce self and your role Be knowledgeable about your job so that you can serve others effectively Help others, offering to assist (Ask, how may I help you?) Do your share. Do what you say you will do and take action, follow through. Be observant of others' social cues (emotions) and respond appropriately Speak clearly and use understandable language (avoid medical jargon or slang) Summarize key information and provide written materials whenever possible Validate to ensure understanding Use open-ended questions to engage Demonstrate appropriate body language and tone of voice Speak positively about your work, co-workers and Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care See the positive in situations and in others Avoid gossip and negativity Offer to answer any additional questions that the person, patient or customer may have Qualifications Current California LVN License. 2 years experience in an acute care, emergency room, urgent care or immediate care, preferred. Knowledgeable in scope of practice. Able to communicate effectively with patients and physicians. Able to work independently and assist in directing others to achieve care goals. BLS and ACLS required. Proficient with I.V.
