Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in detox care, where your expertise will be vital in guiding patients through the challenging process of substance withdrawal and recovery. Your critical thinking and clinical skills will help facilitate a smooth transition toward ongoing treatment or recovery programs. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medication reconciliation to determine appropriate detox protocols. Administer medications and IV infusions accurately while monitoring for adverse reactions, ensuring compliance with all safety standards. Manage airway and ventilator support as needed, utilizing your expertise in airway management and emergency response procedures. Document all patient interactions, medication administrations, and clinical observations meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address acute pain management, mental health needs, and co-occurring conditions like infectious disease or dementia care. Provide patient education on withdrawal symptoms, medication protocols, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Maintain sterile processing techniques and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients with complex medical needs. Skills Proven experience working with individuals experiencing substance withdrawal or in detox settings; familiarity with long-term care or skilled nursing facilities is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology related to acute care and pain management. Skilled in the use of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and clinical data management. Ability to perform venipuncture, catheterization, specimen collection/processing, and basic life support (BLS) procedures confidently. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, and those requiring hospice or palliative care. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate medical records documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is advantageous. Excellent caregiver communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient assessment and discharge planning. Familiarity with infection control practices, sterile techniques, and emergency response protocols such as CPR or first aid.

4 days/week, afternoon shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) Weekends as needed Start date: October 5th, 2026

Pay:

$28.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 per week
