The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals in various settings, including assisted living and hospice care. Duties Perform routine medical procedures such as taking vital signs,she/he assists residents with the process of self-administered medications. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Read the communication Log when starting your shift and implement it if necessary.
- Perform routine personal care duties for residents in Assisted Living as described in Facility and ProceduresManuals.
- Assist residents in activities of daily living.
- Observe and report any changes in resident's physical and emotional condition to professional nurse onduty.
- Assist residents with their meals. Provide between meal nourishments when requested.
- Assist residents to various areas of the facility for medication, treatment, etc.
- Answer call bell promptly.
- Maintain rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
- Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each resident. Encourageindependence in activities of daily living.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Collaborate with other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans. Provide compassionate care to patients, particularly those with disabilities or in hospice settings. Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for patient management and documentation. Conduct assessments of patients' conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Support patients in daily activities and provide emotional support as needed. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with assisted living environments and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Experience in hospice care is a plus, showcasing an understanding of end-of-life care principles. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times. Certification or training relevant to medical technology or nursing is an advantage but not mandatory.
