Your expertise will support patient assessments, medical documentation, medication administration, and care coordination, ensuring every individual receives attentive and personalized treatment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth. Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to HIPAA and sterile processing protocols. Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing to support accurate medical testing. Provide specialized care for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Support discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient transitions across settings such as skilled nursing facilities or home & community care. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Skills Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Medical office experience preferred, but not mandatory Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding for accurate medical documentation and billing processes. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, medication administration protocols, and patient assessment skills. Updates provider referrals. Follows Standard Precautions and OSHA Guidelines. Prepares and maintains records of observation and care given. Documents information (vital signs, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation and blood pressure, allergies and weight) clearly and completely utilizing correct process and in a timely manner. Communicates any changes from the norm, or "unusual" observations to the medical staff in a timely manner. Shares knowledge with others. Acts as a role model and mentor to new staff members. Maintains a neat, organized work area. Monitors inventory of medical supplies and reorders in a timely manner. Corrects unsafe conditions as appropriate. Reports all unsafe conditions to Office Manager. Maintains and uses equipment in a safe manner. Adheres to dress code. Demonstrates a respectful relationship with co-workers and providers. Accepts constructive criticism and takes corrective action. Maintains a safe, secure, comfortable environment for every patient and visitor. Adheres strictly to confidentiality policies. Administers clia-waived tests and performs venipunctures. Administers injections and medications, if within scope of practice. Performs dressing changes and provides wound care as directed.
