$36.01 per hour What does a PRN STNA, LPN, or RN do at the Veterans Homes? STNA (as Therapeutic Program Worker) is a direct care worker that helps residents with daily living skills and assists them with needs. Support given will vary based on each resident's needs and capabilities. Assists with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming. Transports and attends activities or programs with residents. Observes & reports changes in symptoms, behaviors, accidents, incidents, or injuries to charge nurse. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a direct care worker that supports medical treatments, assists nurses, and provides daily care. LPNs complete physician orders; assist with exams, treatments & specimen collection. Administers medication, including controlled substances, Observes & documents residents' conditions, Creates and completes progress notes, care plans, summaries. Escorts residents, Redirects unsafe actions to promote positive outcomes. Registered Nurse (as Nurse 1) is a direct care worker providing professional nursing care, assists in unit operations, and ensures quality outcomes. This position assesses & evaluates resident needs, can administer medications and prepares treatments, performs daily rounds and documents resident conditions, progress & response. RN-specific assessments for admissions, readmissions, quarterly, and as needed. Participates on committees, problem-solving teams, and in-service meetings.

Qualifications Therapeutic Program Workers (STNA) roles require current STNA certification &/or listing on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry. Formal education in arithmetic, and reading/writing/speaking English. Licensed Practical Nurse roles require license to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code & proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration. Nurse 1 (RN) roles require current licensure as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code.

Unusual Working Conditions:
May be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, be exposed to bodily fluids or infectious diseases, and work weekends or mandatory overtime.
