Job Description

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within a meat processing facility. This position supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on: Conveyors and material handling systems Overhead chain systems Processing and packaging equipment Electrical systems and controls Boilers and steam-related systems (if qualified) Engine room and facility utilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems Perform equipment adjustments and calibrations Troubleshooting Identify root causes of equipment failures Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues Respond promptly to production downtime events Safety & Compliance Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Maintain compliance with OSHA, USDA, and facility safety standards Maintain safe and clean work practices Documentation & Reporting Complete maintenance work orders and logs Document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities Communicate equipment issues to supervisors General Responsibilities Maintain tools and maintenance areas Assist with equipment installations and upgrades Support continuous improvement initiatives Work collaboratively with production and sanitation teams Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Technical training or maintenance certification preferred Experience in industrial maintenance preferred Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Reliable attendance and punctuality Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and reach Ability to work in cold, wet, hot, and noisy environments Ability to work around machinery and moving equipment Work Environment Meat processing/manufacturing facility Exposure to: Cold and wet production areas Extremely Hot production areas Mechanical equipment and conveyors Electrical systems Boiler/engine room conditions Noise and industrial hazards

[1 st : 6:00am / 2 nd : 2:00pm / 3 rd : 10:00pm]
Schedule:
Monday to Saturday, you will work up to 10 to 12 hours a day
