1:1 School Nurse | Full Time -
Per Diem Pay:
Starting at $30/hr; Based on experience Step away from hospital shifts and enjoy a flexible, school-based schedule. We are hiring a License Practical Nurse to provide 1:1 care for students in a public school setting. This role is ideal for nurses with pediatric or skilled nursing experience who want a lower-stress environment while continuing to use hands-on clinical skills.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (day shift) No nights or weekends Flexible per diem scheduling
Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a student during the school day Perform tracheostomy care (suctioning and airway management) Administer G-tube feedings and care Monitor and respond to seizures (including precautions/intervention) Support diabetes care (blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration) Provide urinary catheter care as needed Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Monitor vital signs and student health status Respond to medical needs and emergencies Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers Paid training provided for all specialized care.
Requirements:
Active LPN license in Virginia (required) BLS certification (required) Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred Comfortable with or willing to learn trach, G-tube, and seizure care
