Job Description
Join us at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital where we have been providing world-class care to our community for over 100 years. The Massage Therapist administers therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydro-therapy. A caregiver in this position will work 6:45am to 4:45pm. No weekends required. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology, and hydrotherapy. Interview patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results, and appropriate modality. Apply selected modality, focusing on areas of discomfort. Monitor patient's responses to treatment and adjust, changes, or terminates treatment based on feedback. Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results. Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile, and Organizational state. Order supplies, as necessary. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school graduate or equivalent plus Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program. Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Experience working in the health care field.
Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds. Requires standing and walking for extended times. Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs. Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$18.88 Maximum hourly: $28.80 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
