Duties Prepare patients for dermatology examinations by taking detailed medical histories Assist dermatologists during procedures, including skin biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic treatments, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), accurately documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural notes. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples for laboratory testing as needed. Educate patients on skincare routines, medication usage, and post-procedure care to promote optimal outcomes. Conduct intake assessments and assist with patient triage to determine urgency levels based on symptoms and medical history. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a focus on dermatology or related specialties such as plastic surgery or autoimmune. Strong knowledge of dermatological procedures, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medical documentation standards. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and those requiring medical-surgical interventions. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments, while remaining focused on completing and closing out tasks from each exam.
