Job Description
Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy healthcare practice in Laguna Hills, CA. This position will provide both clinical and administrative support, working closely with providers and patients to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will have strong Medical Assistant skills, experience working with an electronic medical record system, and the ability to effectively manage multiple patient care responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Greet and room patients for scheduled appointments. Obtain and accurately document vital signs and patient information. Support providers with day-to-day patient care activities. Complete quality-related tasks and documentation to help ensure patient care standards are met. Assist with the patient checkout process , including follow-up needs and instructions. Coordinate and process patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare services. Obtain and track prior authorizations as required. Conduct patient outreach regarding appointments, follow-up care, referrals, and other healthcare needs. Accurately document patient information and activities within the electronic medical record. Work collaboratively with providers and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day. Qualifications Previous Medical Assistant or related clinical healthcare experience. Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Epic EMR experience strongly preferred. Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs. Knowledge of referrals and prior authorization processes. Strong patient communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities. Comfortable conducting patient outreach and communicating with providers and healthcare staff. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment. Schedule & Training Monday through Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Training will take place during the regularly scheduled work hours.
