Summary:

We are currently hiring a Medical Assistant to work within a behavioral health facility located in Palm Springs, CA. The Medical Assistant will play an important role in supporting the health and safety of patients throughout their treatment and recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribute medications to patients in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols. Verify patient identity and medication information prior to medication distribution. Monitor patients after medication administration and observe for potential side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition. Promptly report any medication-related concerns or changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate medical or clinical staff. Maintain accurate medication administration records, logs, and required documentation. Complete weekly medication inventories and help ensure medications are properly accounted for and available to patients. Coordinate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions and medication-related needs as directed by the medical provider. Obtain and document patient health histories and substance use histories. Take and accurately record patient vital signs. Complete health assessments for new patients and communicate any concerns regarding potential detoxification needs. Communicate and collaborate with medical providers and other members of the clinical team to promote patient safety and well-being. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policies and HIPAA requirements. Request medical records from outside healthcare providers when necessary and within HIPAA guidelines. Maintain appropriate medical supplies and ensure the facility remains adequately stocked.

Qualifications:

Medical Assistant diploma required Previous experience in a healthcare, substance use treatment, behavioral health, or recovery setting preferred. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Pay:

From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
