Peak Family Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our primary care team in Montrose. This is not an entry-level Medical Assistant trainee position. We are looking for a candidate who already has hands-on experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient medical practice and can become productive quickly after learning Peak Family Medicine's workflows. National Medical Assistant certification is preferred but is not required. Experienced non-certified Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have at least one year of direct outpatient Medical Assistant experience. Two or more years of experience is preferred. Experience as an EMT, CNA, phlebotomist, or in another healthcare position is valuable, but does not substitute for prior Medical Assistant experience for this position. Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred but not required. We are looking for someone who wants a stable, long-term position in Montrose. Reliability, consistent attendance, professionalism, patient safety, teamwork, and follow-through are essential to this role. Peak Family Medicine is a busy community-based primary care practice. Our Medical Assistants work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical team members and have an important role in maintaining safe, efficient, coordinated patient care.

Medical Assistant responsibilities include:

Rooming patients and obtaining accurate vital signs Reviewing and reconciling medication lists Collecting and documenting accurate clinical information Performing venipuncture and specimen collection Administering injections and vaccines Performing EKGs Performing point-of-care and other in-office testing Preparing patients and assisting providers with office procedures Preparing, cleaning, and stocking examination rooms Entering information accurately into the electronic medical record Following provider orders and completing assigned patient follow-up Communicating appropriately with patients regarding provider instructions Supporting patient flow and working closely with the clinical team Maintaining infection control and patient safety standards Completing assigned work reliably and on time Minimum qualifications: At least one year of hands-on outpatient Medical Assistant experience. Ability to independently perform common Medical Assistant duties including vital signs, medication reconciliation, injections, venipuncture, and EKGs. Strong computer and electronic medical record skills. Accurate documentation and data-entry skills. Professional communication skills. Consistent and reliable attendance. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred qualifications:

Two or more years of outpatient Medical Assistant experience. CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or similar recognized Medical Assistant certification. Primary care or family medicine experience. eClinicalWorks experience.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position. Typical Medical Assistant schedules consist of either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts per week. There are no night shifts. Saturday coverage is limited and shared among the clinical team when needed.
