Competitive and based on experience Job Responsibilities Welcome and assist pediatric patients and their families in a professional and friendly manner. Obtain and document patient vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical information. Prepare patients for examinations and assist the provider during visits. Perform routine clinical duties within the scope of training and certification. Administer vaccines and medications as directed and permitted by applicable regulations. Perform and assist with point-of-care testing, including rapid tests and other office procedures. Prepare examination rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Review and update patient medications, allergies, medical history, and demographic information. Assist with patient triage and communicate patient concerns to the provider. Prepare and maintain patient charts and medical records. Assist with referrals, prescriptions, forms, and other clinical office tasks. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Follow HIPAA, infection-control, OSHA, and office safety policies. Assist with vaccine inventory, storage, and documentation. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, providers, and other members of the healthcare team. Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operations of the pediatric practice. Qualifications Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Pediatric experience is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required depending on experience. CPR/BLS certification preferred. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with children of various ages. Professional, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy pediatric office. Must be comfortable working as part of a team. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
