In this position, you'll help our providers deliver excellent patient care within a friendly, efficient, and professional setting. Working alongside our providers and clinical staff, the Medical Assistant supports patient care, clinical procedures, and the daily rhythm of the medical center. We're looking for someone organized and adaptable who does well in a busy healthcare environment. Pay is competitive and based on experience. Position Overview This role helps keep clinical operations running smoothly and improves the overall patient experience through attentive, efficient care. You may be asked to assist across different clinical areas to keep workflows on track and support provider productivity. Experience in primary care is a plus, though not required. Key Responsibilities Record vital signs, patient history, and chief complaints accurately. Get patients ready for exams and support providers during procedures. Carry out clinical tasks within your scope, such as administering medications, EKGs, injections, point-of-care testing, and collecting specimens where needed. Keep EHR documentation current and precise. Help manage patient flow, referrals, and follow-ups as providers direct. Lend a hand with appointment prep and administrative work as needed. Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and safety guidelines at all times. Take part in quality initiatives like preventive screenings and chronic disease management. Treat every patient with compassion, respect, and professionalism. Qualifications Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred; a primary care background is a bonus. You should know medical terminology and basic clinical procedures. EHR experience is a plus. Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills are a must in this fast-paced setting. Fluency in both English and Creole is required; Spanish is a plus. MA certification is preferred but not required.
