A Medical Assistant assists physicians and other medical specialists with routine administrative or clinical tasks. Organizes patient records, schedules appointments, and prepares medical equipment. May specialize in administrative or clinical work, or specialize in a particular area of medicine, i.e. assisting in the office of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Works in medical offices.

Travel between DDCA office locations is required Position Summary DDCA is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and highly organized Certified Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, willing to learn, comfortable multitasking, and able to work effectively with patients, providers, and coworkers. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to travel between our South Lakeland, North Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Lake Wales offices. The successful candidate will support both clinical and administrative operations while helping us provide professional, respectful, and compassionate care to every patient. Key Responsibilities Welcome patients and assist with the check-in and check-out process Perform patient triage, including obtaining vital signs and relevant medical information Answer incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Assist with front-office and administrative responsibilities Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential patient records Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and coworkers Prepare and maintain clean, organized patient-care and work areas Manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a busy medical-office environment Provide compassionate and respectful care to patients of all backgrounds Travel between DDCA office locations as assigned Support coworkers and assist the team wherever needed Perform other duties consistent with the position and the needs of the practice Schedule and Office Locations This position is expected to provide approximately 20-25 hours per week . Work hours may vary based on office needs and may include both morning and evening shifts. The Certified Medical Assistant may be scheduled at the following locations:
South Lakeland:
Approximately three days per week
North Lakeland:
Administrative work Monday through Friday, as needed
Winter Haven:
Approximately twice per week
Lake Wales:
One half-day per month
Saturday Schedule:
One Saturday per month Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between office locations. Required Qualifications Current Medical Assistant certification Knowledge of patient check-in, check-out, and triage procedures Strong telephone communication and appointment-scheduling skills Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Ability to work flexible morning and evening hours, including one Saturday per month Ability to travel between DDCA office locations Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills Dependable, professional, and willing to learn Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Commitment to treating every patient with dignity, kindness, and respect Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills Our Commitment At DDCA, we care for everyone.
