Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our small office healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist healthcare providers. Your expertise in medical procedures, patient interaction, and administrative support will ensure smooth clinic flow and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories, vital signs, and documenting symptoms accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as providing education on treatments, provide support for the doctors and ensuring comfort throughout visits Conduct routine procedures including basic wound care in outpatient setting. Manage administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate medical records Some knowledge in surgery scheduling and authorizations a plus. Qualifications Certification or demonstrated experience as a Medical Assistant of 3 years or more Knowledge of General Surgery procedures and scheduling is a plus Familiarity with Epic EHR systems is a plus Knowledge of ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes is a plus Ability to perform clinical skills such as vital signs collection and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy to support effective communication and patient care delivery
