We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. Candidates must be able to work early morning and late evening hours, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays along with potential Saturday hours, at either of our two office locations (Des Plaines or far Northwest Chicago).

Required experience:

Medical Assistant > 2 years MUST be experienced in Venipuncture/Blood draws with both straight needles and butterfly, as well as Vaccinations This position must be able to perform the following job duties including, but not limited to:

• Greeting and rooming patients
• Taking vitals
• Collecting medical history
• Administering vaccines to all ages
• Performing blood draws with a straight needle, butterfly only when necessary
• Process blood and place in lab lock boxes
• Perform EKGs
• Provide meticulous documentation into EMR system (Epic experience a plus)

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
• Verify patient insurance information
• Maintain patient records and update information as needed
• Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing documents
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
• Collect patient medical history updates/allergies/etc each visit
• Perform 25+ venipuncture daily
• Prepare and send specimens to labs
• Perform supply and vaccine inventories

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in using phone systems and basic computer software
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus This position requires the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.

The ideal candidate should have a friendly demeanor, be able to work well in a team, and have a strong customer service mindset. Please note that this job does require early morning/late evening and possible weekend shifts, depending on the needs of the medical facility.
