Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (rooming up to 40 patients per day, rooming for two providers) to join our dynamic 5-provider outpatient medical practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting both clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and high-quality patient care. This position requires strong multitasking skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a patient-first attitude. Office hours Monday through Thursday 7:45 am to 6:15 pm (Must have reliable transportation)
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient examinations and minor procedures. Take and record vital signs, height, weight, and patient medical history. Perform routine clinical tasks such as administering injections, EKGs, Flu, Covid, Strep testing and specimen collection. Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and ensure exam rooms are stocked and clean. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider. Assist with medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, scanning, answering phones, faxes, checking daily task. Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Administrative Duties:
Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals. Assist with managing patient records, scanning, and filing. Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments. Handle prescription requests and communications between patients and providers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required. Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical outpatient setting is preferred. Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of HIPPA. Must be CPR certified.
Work Environment:
Clinical office setting with direct patient interaction. Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
