Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. This role combines front-office responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers alike. You will be vital in managing patient interactions, supporting clinical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced outpatient or hospital setting. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes to ensure smooth patient flow Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and current medications during patient intake using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as preparing patients for examinations, collecting specimens, and supporting basic procedures including X-ray or medication administration when qualified Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordinate referrals to specialists or other departments such as dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and ensure compliance with privacy regulations Support clinical staff with tasks related to physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and emergency procedures in high-acuity settings like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing patient records, verifying insurance information, and processing billing or intake forms Experience Prior experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, or emergency medicine environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding to accurately document patient interactions Hands-on experience in medical-surgical settings or geriatrics clinics will be advantageous Familiarity with hospital experience including inpatient care or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or Geriatrics enhances your ability to excel in this role Knowledge of X-ray procedures or emergency medicine protocols is a plus for supporting clinical workflows in trauma centers or urgent care settings Strong patient service skills combined with the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or outpatient clinics This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a vibrant healthcare environment dedicated to exceptional patient care. $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
