Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a professional and compassionate Clinical Support Assistant to join a Psychiatry & Behavioral Health team supporting school districts and providing valuable services and resources to children, adolescents, and their families . This position will work from office locations in Wainscott and Riverhead, NY and will focus heavily on patient/family communication, appointment scheduling, initial outreach, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a medical office, behavioral health, mental health, pediatric, healthcare, or patient services environment and will be comfortable communicating with families in a professional and compassionate manner. Key Responsibilities Conduct initial outreach to patients and families Communicate with parents, guardians, children, and adolescents in a professional and compassionate manner Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Gather and accurately document pertinent patient and family information Answer and manage incoming telephone calls Respond to questions and route inquiries to appropriate clinical staff Maintain accurate patient demographic and appointment information Provide administrative and clerical support to the Psychiatry & Behavioral Health team Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient daily operations Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements Provide a positive and supportive experience for patients and families Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare, behavioral health, mental health, patient services, or similar administrative setting preferred High School Diploma or GED required Experience with patient scheduling, registration, or telephone-based patient communication preferred Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable interacting with families of children and adolescents Professional and compassionate telephone manner Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment Comfortable working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information Must be able to work at office locations in Wainscott and Riverhead, NY Ideal Background Candidates with previous experience as a Clinical Support Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Patient Service Representative, Patient Access Representative, Medical Administrative Assistant, Behavioral Health Coordinator, Patient Care Coordinator, or Medical Scheduler are encouraged to apply.
