Job description Our private practice is seeking a motivated and organized optometric receptionist/optometric technician to join our eye care team. Candidates must be friendly, service oriented, and willing to work with patients of all ages. Attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed protocols are required to provide the customized eye care and eye wear our patients deserve. Responsibilities Schedule medical and vision appointments in practice management software Verify Insurance Eligibility Handle incoming calls/e-mails/texts, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel. Facilitate friendly and efficient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately. Process payments and receipts Ensure efficient front desk operations to keep the schedule flowing smoothly Qualifications Proficiency in medical office procedures, HIPAA regulations, and front desk operations Strong computer skills Ability to thrive and be efficient in a fast paced environment Time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks Superb listening skills and phone etiquette on a multi-line phone system Concise written and verbal communication with patients and co-workers Basic mathematical equation skills required Experience in vision care is preferred, but we will consider candidates with other customer service or administrative backgrounds. We will train the right person who is willing to learn. Pay rate is based on prior experience. Opportunities for advancement when core skills are mastered.
