to work primarily at our Fairview location. Please note our new single office will be opening in the spring in Edinboro (the Fairview and existing Edinboro office will be closing).

- We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hard-working Full-Time (or Part-Time ) Medical Assistant to contribute to the success of our rapidly growing practice.
Responsibilities include providing dermatology and surgical assistance in the clinical setting. Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is reliable and possesses an upbeat attitude and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and following up with patient biopsy results
- Provide patient education, including instructions for skin care, medication use, and pre- and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and medical histories
- Prepares exam rooms according to scheduled procedures, escorts patient to the exam room, obtains a short history and medication list
- Transcribes the entire visit and assures documentation of patient care is compliant
- Assist physician with surgical procedures and then educate the patient after the physician establishes a treatment plan to ensure proper use of medications and their responsibility for compliance with the treatment
- Cleans and disinfects the exam room after patient visits
- Provides care with compassion, empathy, and patience
- Administers specific medications under direction of provider
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, cleans and sterilizes surgical instruments
- Assists in reordering, stocking, and cleaning
- Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Reliable, upbeat attitude and possesses a strong work ethic
- Dermatology or surgical experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Basic computer/iPad knowledge
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records software (We use Modernizing Medicine)
- Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful
- Thrives in a team environment
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting
- The maturity to interact with our patients and staff in a professional manner, as well as receive feedback and grow on a personal and professional level
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
