Job Description

The Clinic Assistant will answer telephones and assist patients with various requests. If unable to assist, the clinic assistant will triage to the appropriate provider. They will also assist clinic staff with scheduling, checking patient's eligibility and maintaining patient's records. Will also provide support with other clerical tasks assigned to them. Professional Duties Assists providers with translation services when necessary Establishes and maintains effective communication with patients and department staff. Efficiently communicates via telephone with staff members and patients. Flexible in ability to adapt to changes in assignments. Acts as customer service Liaison between Medication management and patient-family. Works within scope of practice. Understands when to escalate issues to a higher level. Assists in obtaining laboratory results and schedules patients for appointments in Nextgen. Assists with mailings to patients as requested by provider Assists with cleaning of Patient scales and blood pressure machines. Performs other duties as assigned. Serve as an ambassador for Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care at all times and positively shape the customer experience Introduce self and your role Do your share. Be willing to pitch in and help Be an active listener (make eye contact, validate) Assume a neutral position and suspend judgment of others Speak clearly and use understandable language (avoid medical jargon or slang) Validate to ensure understanding Use open-ended questions to engage Demonstrate appropriate body language and tone of voice Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required. Able to work independently and communicate well with patients and staff. Able to function under pressure and multi-task effectively. Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. BLS required for those with patient contact At the discretion of
DOHC/FHC
management, this position has the potential to be a full or hybrid telecommuting position.
