Clinic Assistant- Part-time Great schedule for college students! Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join our clinics located in Garland, McKinney, and and occasionally Mesquite. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required.
Schedule:
Part-time, averaging 8-32 hours per week. Must be available at least one weekday M-F and Saturdays are required. Part-time student staff typically work according to their class schedule availability. For example, class days are Mon/Wed/Fri, so availability is Tuesday/Thursday and Saturday. We don't offer half-day shifts, as our clinics are busy all day. Work hours are typically 9:30 am -5:30 pm. Open availability for 3-4 days per week is also desired.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity) Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care Monitor and restock clinical supplies
Administrative Duties:
Greet and assist patients at check-in Schedule appointments Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming Opportunities for Lead Assistants include checking patients in, checking out and benefit verification Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Prior medical/optometry office experience preferred but not required (training provided)) Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs Professional, dependable, and team-oriented Benefits Bonuses On-the-job training and opportunities for growth Compensation based strongly on experience Why Join Us?
