Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth daily operations. Your expertise in medical procedures, patient interaction, and office management will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining the highest standards of medical practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills across various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all clinical areas are clean and organized for patient visits Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and specimen collection with precision and care Support physicians Document medical information thoroughly in medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and coordinate follow-up care efficiently Maintain knowledge of pharmacology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support accurate documentation and billing Other duties as assigned Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office setting with outpatient or hospital experience Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including geriatrics and emergency medicine patients Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or hospital settings while maintaining attention to detail Join us in delivering exceptional healthcare services! This paid role offers opportunities for professional development across multiple specialties within the healthcare field. Pay is based on experience and if someone is certified or not. Uncertified will start out at $12 and certified at $14. Then there is a .25 per year pay increase based on experience for the first 10 years then .10 per year of experience for each additional.
