Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner and make a meaningful impact on patient care across diverse clinical settings. You will collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Your expertise will support acute and chronic condition management, health education, and preventive services, all while working within a vibrant healthcare community committed to excellence. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with best practices and clinical guidelines. Administer medications, injections (including Botox and dermal fillers), and perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and IV infusions. Manage urgent care cases, triage patients effectively, and provide immediate interventions for acute pain or emergency situations. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Coordinate with specialists for diagnostic evaluations like sonography or laboratory specimen processing; support telehealth consultations. Assist with post-acute care planning, discharge instructions, and case management for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatric patients, assisted living residents, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner license with valid certification to practice in your state. Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth. Demonstrated expertise in procedures like suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and IV insertion. Experience working in various clinical environments including urgent care, hospital medicine, ICU/CCU (Critical Care Unit), emergency medicine, or hospice & palliative care. Knowledge of complex medical coding systems including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 (International Classification of Diseases), and utilization review processes. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments across age groups—pediatrics to geriatrics—and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes or dementia care. Excellent communication skills for patient education on topics like nutrition, family planning, or memory care; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred. Critical care experience or trauma center background is advantageous; familiarity with Level I/II trauma centers or neonatal/pediatric intensive care units is a plus.
