Medical Assistant
Job Description
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• No regularly scheduled evenings or weekends
• We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. Our clinic provides specialized care to patients with a wide range of infectious diseases and complex medical needs. Telehealth is a significant part of our practice , so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with technology, communicating with patients remotely, and helping coordinate care between patients and providers. Key Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and pertinent medical history Prepare patients for provider visits and assist with examinations and procedures as needed Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record Perform medication reconciliation Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as appropriate Assist with referrals, medical records, and coordination of patient care Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, and patient-safety standards Telehealth Responsibilities Telehealth is an important part of our clinic and daily workflow.
The Medical Assistant will:
Prepare patients for telehealth appointments Contact patients prior to visits to obtain and update necessary clinical information Assist patients with connecting to telehealth appointments when needed Coordinate communication between patients and providers Accurately document information obtained during telehealth preparation Assist providers in maintaining an efficient telehealth schedule and workflow Be comfortable learning and troubleshooting basic telehealth technology Qualifications Medical Assistant education, certification, or previous medical office/clinical experience preferred Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain Strong computer and technology skills Experience with electronic medical records preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting Professional and compassionate when working with patients who may have complex or chronic medical conditions Dependable and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team Previous infectious disease experience is not required. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellent patient care. The right person for our team is someone who is reliable, organized, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys helping patients . Because much of our care involves telehealth and coordination between multiple healthcare providers, strong communication and follow-through are especially important. Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
