We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Critical Care to lead our Intensive Care Unit and provide strategic oversight for one of the hospital's most critical service lines. What You'll Do As the Director of Critical Care, you will: Provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for the Critical Care department. Lead and develop nursing leaders and staff while fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and department productivity. Monitor and improve quality indicators including infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance. Lead department initiatives focused on quality improvement, employee engagement, and patient satisfaction. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, Illinois Department of Public Health, and hospital standards. Qualifications Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience within a Critical Care or Intensive Care setting Preferred Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC) Experience with regulatory surveys, quality improvement initiatives, and budget management Why Gateway Regional Medical Center?
