Job Description
The Bert Nash Center (BNC) is seeking an innovative and collaborative Medical Director to author the next chapter of their pioneering crisis intervention center, the Treatment & Recovery Center (TRC)

- Home of the University of Kansas Jayhawks!), BNC is the designated community mental health center & the certified community behavioral health clinic for Douglas County. The TRC, seen by stakeholders as a "beacon in the community", provides crisis care through urgent care, treatment, and recovery 24/7, 365 days a year. Medical Director of TRC
Crisis Intervention:
- 75% or more administrative
- Monday-Friday, No Call
- Will lead a multidisciplinary team (including 5 APPs), shape clinical and operational excellence, and serve as a visible steward for mental health in the community
- Will have the "pen" to help define what crisis care can be, not just for today, but for years to come
- Provides leadership within the center and also across the community, educating stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and helping set a new standard for care
- Collaborates closely with Chief Medical Officer and executive leadership to align the culture and direction of the TRC with the overall mission of The Bert Nash Center.
The ideal candidate:
- Board-certified physician (psychiatry or primary care preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience, with formal leadership experience and/or training preferred
- Demonstrates humility, vision, and ability to listen and lead
- Thrives in complexity, values teamwork, and is ready for the responsibility and privilege of shaping a new model of care.
