Veterinary Medical Director (FT or PT)- HQHVLC Spay and Neuter Clinic 1 Full-Time or 1 Part-Time position AAGS Spay/Neuter Clinic A Program of the Animal Alliance of Greater Syracuse (AAGS), Syracuse, NY | Non-Profit | 501(c)(3) Overview The Animal Alliance of Greater Syracuse (AAGS) is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the AAGS Spay/Neuter Clinic, and we need a Medical Director to lead our pack!
Who Are We Looking For:
We are seeking a Veterinarian professional who is licensed to practice in NYS (DVM/VMD) and has an active DEA license. We value candidates who understand or are eager to learn the HQHVLC approach to spay/neuter surgery, as it aligns with our mission to increase access to care while maintaining high medical standards. Good communication, strong work ethic and commitment to our Clinic's mission to reduce the unwanted pet overpopulation and promote animal health and safety to the community is required.Job Summary:
Oversee daily clinical operations to make sure the clinic is set up for success. Provide comprehensive care for surgical patients and ensure adherence to all pre- peri
- and post-operative protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform pre-op exams, high-volume sterilizations (training provided), and post-op checks Oversee patient care, controlled substance handling, and recovery Administer vaccines and recommend follow-up care Handle surgical complications and perform CPR/emergency procedures Maintain ethical, safe, and professional veterinary standards Evaluate and improve medical protocols with clinic leadership Supervise, train, and support clinic staff and volunteers Communicate effectively with the AAGS Board of Directors, Executive Director, Clinic Manager and training program participants Participate in special events and ongoing training Benefits toInclude:

Busy, high-volume clinic with potential exposure to chemicals, sharps, and anesthetic gases. Must be able to adapt to changing schedules and travel for training as needed.
