Job Description
Medical Director - Psychiatrist Full-Time | Hybrid | Ludlow, Massachusetts Role Description The Medical Director is a full-time, hybrid Psychiatrist role based in Ludlow, MA, with the flexibility for some work from home. Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Share on-call responsibilities with mid-level providers.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations within 24 hours of admission.
- Provide psychiatric follow-ups every 7 days and as needed during crisis situations.
- Ensure evidence-based practices are consistently applied.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Supervise and review/sign mid-level provider documentation and other chart reviews within 24 hours of completion.
- Participate in case conferences, review clinical documentation, and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Help shape policies and protocols related to dual diagnosis services.
- Contribute to program development, regulatory compliance, and ongoing performance review to maintain high standards of care. Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in psychiatric care for both primary mental health and addiction.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary clinical teams.
- Board certification in Psychiatry; additional training or certification in addiction psychiatry or dual diagnosis treatment is highly beneficial.
- Active, unrestricted medical license, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Massachusetts.
- Strong diagnostic, treatment planning, and documentation skills, with familiarity in electronic health records.
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and comprehensive collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
