Veterinary Technician Supervisor (Advocate) Animal Emergency Hospital DeLand is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to help lead our dedicated team of technicians and assistants. In this leadership role you will help train and mentor our nursing staff, evaluate performance and track growth and progress. You will be directly involved in hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions. You will help maintain hospital equipment, create SOPs for new procedures or protocols and ensure safety standards are being met. This position works in partnership with the Hospital Manager to carry out exceptional patient care, professional client service and inspirational leadership of the team.

Experience Required:

At least 5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine with certification or licensure preferred. At least 3 years of leadership experience. Experience in a fast-paced hospital or clinic setting. Strong organizational skills. Flexibility in availability is required. This is not a 9-5 position. Excellent interpersonal skills with empathy leading your decision making. The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritizing and delegating those tasks as appropriate. Strong communication skills, with team members, doctors and clients. Conflict resolution and de-escalation experience. A strong desire to help others reach their full potential. Can lead by example by embracing the hospital's Guiding Principles.

Responsibilities:

Plan and maintain schedules for all technicians and assistants. Oversee and delegate employee roles and tasks. Work with shift leads and Doctor Extenders in finding call-out replacements and determining the best plan that fits the needs of all. Assists in recruiting and hiring technical staff. Participate in the employee review process by evaluating and conducting reviews that encourage growth and advancement for the staff. Address and document all minor disciplinary issues and review with Hospital Manager as appropriate. Plan and execute technician/assistant meetings on a regular basis. Available to all team members, including management, via text message, email and phone while not in the building. Be present. Be committed. Advocate.
