Job Description

Medical Receptionist Waterbury Area. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient information, collecting payments, and supporting the smooth operation of the medical office. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, both in person and by phone. Register patients and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and identification information in the electronic health record (EHR). Verify insurance eligibility and primary care provider information as required. Collect and accurately document patient payments and reconcile daily transactions. Answer multi-line phones, schedule appointments, take messages, and process referrals. Assist with medical records, scanning, copying, and other administrative tasks. Follow office policies, procedures, and EHR requirements. Provide excellent customer service to patients from diverse backgrounds. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of current front-office experience , preferably in a medical office. Strong computer and telephone skills. Experience with electronic medical records and medical office procedures. Knowledge of insurance guidelines preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to change, and work effectively in a busy healthcare environment. Work Environment This position works in a combination of office, examination, and clinical settings. The role requires extended periods of sitting, along with frequent standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
