Job Description
Physical Medicine Institute is an outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation practice serving Central Florida since 2010. We are hiring a dependable, organized Medical Receptionist for our Clermont office. This is a full-time, patient-facing role focused primarily on front-desk operations, scheduling, accurate electronic records, clerical coordination, and limited clinical support. Responsibilities Greet patients and complete check-in and check-out Schedule appointments and follow-up visits Answer and route telephone calls professionally Confirm and update patient demographics, insurance information, medication lists, and basic intake information Provide limited clinical support by obtaining and documenting vital signs and assisting with routine urine specimen collection. Specimens are sent to an outside laboratory for testing. Track outside lab and imaging orders, obtain reports and results, upload them accurately into the electronic health record, and route them for physician review Collect copays and other patient payments accurately Enter accurate information into eClinicalWorks and other approved systems Respond to patient questions and messages through approved communication systems Scan, upload, download, and organize documents Coordinate with physicians, coworkers, other PMI offices, and outside facilities Provide occasional coverage at other PMI Central Florida offices when scheduled Help maintain organized work areas, exam rooms, supplies, and routine office logs Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and office policies Perform other routine medical-office and clerical duties as assigned Qualifications Dependable, punctual, professional, and respectful Warm and patient with patients and coworkers Comfortable working on a computer throughout the day Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail Organized and able to multitask in a busy medical office Able to follow instructions, learn new systems, accept feedback, and work cooperatively English fluency required; Spanish fluency strongly preferred Medical-office experience or medical assistant training preferred, but not required Experience with eClinicalWorks, Luma Health, Klara, email, or spreadsheets is helpful, but not required Training is provided for the right candidate.
