Locations:
DeBary, Longwood & Lake Mary, FL Immediate Opening Florida Cardiology is seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing cardiology team. This position will primarily perform Medical Assistant duties while also providing Front Desk coverage as needed. This is a multi-location position. Candidates must be willing and able to travel between our DeBary, Longwood, and Lake Mary offices based on staffing and operational needs. Responsibilities Medical Assistant Duties Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, and medical histories. Prepare patients for physician and provider examinations. Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient care. Perform EKGs and other clinical duties within the scope of the position. Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Respond to assigned EMR tasks and clinical messages in a timely manner. Assist with prescription requests, medical records, referrals, and other clinical coordination as assigned. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms. Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and patient-safety requirements. Front Desk / Patient Support Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner. Check patients in and out and verify demographic and insurance information. Answer incoming telephone calls and route messages appropriately. Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Collect applicable copayments and provide appropriate documentation. Assist with scanning, records, and general administrative duties. Provide Front Desk coverage when needed to support office operations. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required. Cardiology or specialty medical practice experience preferred. Experience with an electronic medical record system preferred. Strong clinical, organizational, and customer-service skills. Ability to communicate professionally with patients, physicians, coworkers, and management. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical practice. Dependable attendance and flexibility are essential. Must be comfortable performing bothclinical Medical Assistant and Front Desk responsibilities. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between DeBary, Longwood, and Lake Mary offices are required.
