Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Medical Receptionist. This vital role involves providing exceptional front-desk support, managing patient interactions, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and collect necessary documentation during check-in and check-out processes Schedule appointments using various EMR Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance authorizations, and conduct insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing Manage patient records by updating medical histories, documenting care plans, and reviewing documentation for accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and direct calls appropriately Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims to ensure timely reimbursement Maintain a clean and organized front office environment by filing medical records, managing office supplies, and supporting clinic management tasks Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical setting Strong knowledge of Athena EMR systems Proficiency in medical coding including CPT codes and ICD coding (ICD-9/10), along with understanding of medical terminology and health information management standards Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software platforms efficiently Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and strong communication abilities Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times Prior experience with insurance verification, intake procedures, appointment scheduling, and medical billing is preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
