Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, both in person and over the phone
  • Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details
  • Verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
  • Handle patient payments and billing inquiries
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills:
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and patient service skills
  • Previous experience working in an optometrist or medical office setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Familiarity with medical office software systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
