As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy healthcare practice. Responsibilities Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion. Register patients, verify demographic information, and complete check-in/check-out processes. Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining accurate patient records. Obtain and verify insurance information, authorizations, and precertifications. Process medical records requests in accordance with privacy regulations. Collect copays and patient payments, balancing daily transactions and deposits. Enter and review charges for services rendered. Answer phones, manage patient inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service. Support providers and clinical staff with general administrative and clerical duties. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accurate documentation. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in medical reception, patient registration, healthcare administration, customer service, or a related role preferred. Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred. Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills. Proficiency with computers and office software. Applicable certification or licensure may be considered in lieu of education or experience, where appropriate. Why Join Beacon Health System?
