Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist, Clerical Staff to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes. Manage appointment scheduling using EMR/EHR system WebPT, ensuring accurate and timely patient flow. Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing, and perform collections related to patient accounts while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review, coding accuracy (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Handle phone communication with professionalism, answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and directing calls appropriately using proper phone etiquette. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and other administrative documents; perform data entry with high accuracy using Microsoft Office tools. Support clinical staff by assisting with care plans documentation, medical coding tasks, and health information management activities. Requirements Proven clerical experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of medical administrative support functions. Familiarity with EMR/EHR system WebPT would be great but not required; experience with electronic health records management is preferred. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing, health insurance verification, and claims processing. Understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and documentation review procedures. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key strokes per second is desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person while maintaining professionalism at all times. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA standards; previous clinic or medical office experience is highly valued.
