Job Description
Job Summary The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing front-desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between patients, providers, and staff. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately Check patients in and out, verify personal and insurance information Maintain and update patient records accurately and confidentially Collect co-pays, payments, and issue receipts as required Coordinate with medical staff regarding schedules and patient flow Handle correspondence, referrals, and basic administrative tasks Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming Comply with HIPAA and all healthcare privacy regulations Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent (required) Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures (a plus) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency with office equipment and electronic medical records (EMR) systems Professional appearance and positive attitude
