Medical Receptionist HVA Medical Group About us HVA Medical Group is a multi-specialty practice with offices in Bergen, Passaic and Morris Counties. We are visionary and patient-centric.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: 1
  • Greets all patients in a friendly and welcoming manner. 2
  • Registers all patients in the EMR. Includes retrieval of all demographic, financial and insurance information from patients. Secures all necessary signatures on required forms. 3
  • Obtains copies of patient identification and insurance identification and scans into document imaging system. 4
  • Upon completion of registration, notifies the medical assistant that the patient is ready. 5
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, visitors, co-workers and physicians in accordance with Service Excellence standards. 6
  • Demonstrates appropriate and courteous telephone etiquette during telephone exchanges. Relays essential phone messages. Contacts physicians' offices to exchange and gather information regarding patients. 7
  • Schedules patients for appointments with the doctor and for testing as necessary. 8
  • Preauthorizes testing and procedures as ordered by the doctor for the patient. 9
  • Distributes incoming faxes and handles outgoing faxes. 10
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 11
  • Fluent in Spanish a must
