Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative support. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and HIPAA compliance. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while providing exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive patient experience Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments using systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other EMR/EHR platforms including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, and other billing documentation Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries Prepare and review documentation related to care plans, insurance claims, and billing procedures Maintain organized filing of medical records and office documents Assist with front desk duties such as patient intake, appointment reminders, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools Support administrative tasks including office management, medical office support, and clerical duties Experience Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Meditech is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and insurance processes including Medicare is desirable Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and health information management systems Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Experience with medical billing, documentation review, insurance verification, and clinic administration is beneficial Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security This position offers an engaging environment where your administrative expertise will directly contribute to providing outstanding patient care.
